I. Research Overview
Memory Palace is a constructed space where the AI technology will learn, store and rebuild human memory. Based on epistemic theory, the project uses memory-pretrained GPT-3 to explore the potential of AI aiding human memory reconstruction. Memory Palace aims to explore machine interaction with human memory context and brainstorm about how AI will affect our way of constructing our memory in the future.
What is memory?
How to differentiate whether the recall of human is true memory or constructed “truth”?
How will current AI technology help rebuild human memory?
II. GPT
GPT is a neural network machine learning model trained using internet data to generate any type of text. In simpler words, it requires a small amount of input text and will generate large volumes of relevant and sophisticated machine-generated text. There are a variety of functionality in GPT-3 which includes, text completion, code, completion and chat assistance, etc.
Hello, Ziyu. It's nice to meet you.
How are you today?
I'm doing well, thank you. How about you?
I am not that great.
I'm sorry to hear that. Is there anything I can do to help?
Could you tell me a joke?
Why did the chicken cross the road?
To get to the other side.
That's not funny enough.
I'm sorry, I'll try again.
Why did the duck cross the road?
To get to the other side.
